Each year we are monitored by the State Charter School Commission as a means of ensuring that we are compliant with all state and federal laws and policies, and that we are following the terms laid out in our charter contract. The SCSC is our governing agency, and they offer support and guidance in all areas of our school. Their goal is for us to be the best school we can be for your children.
In the category of Health and Safety, the monitoring team advised us to update our Grievance Policy to include specific language for reporting any allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior. Our existing policy did not list specific grievances or complaints, only the process on how to report concerns. This update goes into more detail on reporting in the area of sexually inappropriate behavior.
We have updated our Student Handbook to include this additional language in the Grievance Policy.
It is a requirement of the monitoring process to ensure that all of our stakeholders, including Parents,
Students, Faculty Members, and Board Members are trained on this policy. A link for the training will be provided via email to all families, and will be included below for easy reference. We appreciate your time in reading and responding to the Training Survey.
Thank you....Lynn Pinson
