High Students in Mrs. Lorie’s Introduction to Drafting & Design class have been putting the Engineering Design Process into action with their Desktop Organizer Engineering Challenge!
Students were challenged to design and build a functional desktop organizer while working within specific size and storage requirements. Before they could start building, they had to measure, brainstorm, create concept sketches, and develop dimensioned technical drawings of their designs.
Then it was time to turn their plans into prototypes! Students measured, cut, assembled, tested, and problem-solved as they brought their designs to life. They tested their organizers for size, storage, stability, and usability and identified areas that could be improved.
We love seeing our Blazers learning by doing and developing creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork along the way!
